Huntington Beach is a beautiful coastal city that is best known for providing a fun and safe place to experience the ocean surf. The area is a hotspot for surfing and has historically earned a reputation for providing some of the more impressive surfers in the state. However, there are plenty of other exciting attractions to explore in Huntington Beach, such as the Shipley Nature Center, the Old World Village, and the Huntington Beach Art Center.

About Huntington Beach

The Shipley Nature Center is a nature preserve that was opened in 1974. This preserve expands across eighteen acres and is known for housing some of the plant life in Huntington that most don’t get to experience while in the city. Birdwatching is a common activity to partake in while in the park, as well as exploring some of the trails within the preserve. There is also a plant nursery on the grounds as well. Located near the Central Library, the Shipley Nature Center is open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. from Monday through Saturday. More information on this attraction can be found here.

The Old World Village is another wonderful place to visit while in Huntington Beach. Located adjacent to the Golden West College, this location embraces the older traditions of the city and the people within it, and frequently hosts events to celebrate the season. The Old World Village has been in operation since the year of 1978, and is best known for providing authentic German style food within the village. More information on this attraction can be found here as well.

Lastly, though certainly not least, the Huntington Beach Art Center makes for a fantastic place to come and view local artwork. This museum is known for offering an array of spectacular exhibits that display the culture and style of the artists local to Huntington Beach in almost every medium. Opened in 1995, this museum has on display painting, photography, and even film work provided by local artists, ensuring that each visit here will be genuine and unique. The Huntington Beach Art Center is open from noon to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, from noon to 6 p.m. on Friday, and from noon to 5 p.m. on Saturday. Those interested in visiting this museum can find more information on the attraction here
